Empowering Iraqi Women Workshop at Basra University

 Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen, and under the supervision of the respected Mrs. Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud, the respected workshop was held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in the college premises, tagged “Empowerment of Iraqi Women” within the empowerment program adopted by the college. It included  The workshop has 7 axes, in which it discussed the various aspects of the role of Iraqi women in society, which are the main component of it and ways to empower them. The workshop opened in its first axis, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi, with a lecture on empowering leadership women, and in the second, Dr. Wafa Yassin gave a lecture on women’s political empowerment. The economic empowerment of women was in  The third axis, which Dr. Nadwa Hilal addressed in her lecture, and in the fourth axis, there was a review of a number of Arab women who had influence and fame in the world in the pre-Islamic eras and Islam, and recently with a lecture by the teacher Sabi Abdel Wahed. On the fifth, Dr. Anwar Abdel Qader gave a lecture on women, security and peace.  Violence against women was addressed by Ms. Nayla Abdel Qader in the sixth and seventh axis  Dr. Batoul Ghaleb spoke about how to eliminate discrimination against women in education, culture and the media
 At the end of the workshop, the Dean of the College distributed certificates of thanks and appreciation to the lecturers for their response to the invitation and their active attendance in the workshop.
