Under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. (Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud), the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology (Salma Abdel-Baqi Mahmoud) concluded the Microsoft Word Office electronic course within a series of courses in Microsoft Office organized by the Computer Science Department in the college in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit And both (teacher Sabi Abdul Wahed Saddam) and assistant professor (Marwa Kamel Hussein) lectured, where the 240 participants took a comprehensive electronic exam in the course curriculum and the participants will be given a certificate of participation.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and in the presence of the Director of the Media Unit, Dr. Adel Jabbar, the heads of departments and assistants, and a group of professors and students of the college, the Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Media Unit, organized a workshop entitled (The computer student’s vision in developing some curricula) In which the teacher, Sabi Abdul Wahed Saddam, presented the first lecture, which included an introduction to virtual reality and augmented reality, and to stand on the pros and cons of virtual reality on society and people and the field of its applications and development mechanisms.
The student Hassan Hadi, a fourth-year student in the Computer Department, presented the second lecture on the development of programming languages and their applications, during which he discussed the programming languages approved in the curricula within the college and what are the alternative modern programming languages and applications from the students' point of view and how to replace them with what currently exists.
At the end of the workshop, the dean of the college presented certificates of appreciation to the lecturers in the workshop and recommended the necessity of conducting such workshops to spread knowledge, strengthen computer skills, and crystallize ideas that help build a promising future for future generations.
The College of Computer Science and Information Technology participates in the Center for Development and Continuing Education by opening its first international conference - the era of digital transformation
The College of Computer Science and Information Technology, represented by the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Salma Abdel-Baqi, participated in the first virtual conference (Development and education is a strength for the individual and society in the era of digital transformation) in cooperation with the (I want) platform, which includes a group of Arabic-speaking academics in Malaysian universities.
Where the importance of e-learning was discussed, focusing on the mechanism of work of continuing education centers and studying and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses in the performance of continuing education centers in Iraq in general in light of the emerging conditions represented by the spread of the Corona epidemic and openness towards digital education.
The first day of the conference witnessed the presentation of a number of scientific researches with the help of about (35) researchers in the conference focused on developing the concepts of continuing education and analyzing its horizons.

The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Basra organized a workshop on a standard and a new vision for the development of higher education institutions. Standard specifications ISO.21001.2018
The workshop included the definition of IS21001, where the instructor, Maysa Abdel Karim, indicated that the EOMS management system standard is a comprehensive international standard for all educational institutions that integrate and complement other international standards in a manner that suits education requirements and meets the expectations of new needs.
The workshop aimed to improve the alignment of objectives and activities with policy (including mission and vision) and discussed the importance of the standard, its objectives, benefits, and ways of applying it in educational institutions to obtain many advantages, including the good reputation of the educational institution
The workshop recommended the establishment of a Quality Assurance Division based on international standards, and the involvement of quality workers in training courses to develop their skills in implementing the standard.
