About the Cybersecurity Department

Department Overview

The establishment of the Cybersecurity Department at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Basra, for the academic year 2023–2024 represents an important step toward meeting the growing demands of cybersecurity in the modern digital age.

The department is dedicated to protecting data and digital systems from cyber threats and electronic attacks. It provides an educational and training environment that enables students to understand cybersecurity threats, develop effective methods to address and mitigate them, and contribute to ensuring the security and integrity of digital systems and data.

Department Goals

The department aims to prepare specialized graduates in cybersecurity who are capable of protecting digital infrastructure, detecting cyber threats and attacks, analyzing security risks, and applying modern technologies and solutions to ensure the security of information and digital systems.
