About the Department of Computer Science

Department Overview

The Department of Computer Science was established in 1983 and remained one of the departments of the College of Science until the beginning of the first semester of the 2014–2015 academic year, when the College of Information Technology was established and the department became one of its departments.

Accordingly, a new undergraduate study plan was adopted starting from the 2014–2015 academic year to keep pace with local and international changes and developments. The new plan aimed to enhance the academic level of graduates and provide them with the skills and technologies necessary to qualify them as effective contributors to the local and regional labor market.
