A graduate student (Sabreen Fawzi Rahim), one of the master’s students in the Department of Computer Science/ College of Computer Science and Information Technology/ University of Basra, participated in a scientific research in the Second International Conference on Modern Applications of Information and Communication Technology (MAICT_2021), which was organized by Imam Al-Kadhim College (peace be upon him) in an integrated manner. In Baghdad on 8-9 December. The conference is considered one of the annual periodic conferences, and the accepted papers are published in the conference in (AIP Conference Series), which is one of the distinguished American journals classified under (Scopus and Clarivate WOS), which is considered one of the approved international classifications. Where the tagged research dealt with:
"Fuzzy Logic-based Self-Adaptive Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm"
In which the student participated, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maitham Abu Al-Hail, the development of the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm by modifying the algorithm to deal with a self-adaptive community, where the size of the community increases and decreases in each cycle based on fuzzy logic.
Based on the findings of the research, the proposed algorithm outperformed the original algorithm and for all test data represented by 20 common optimization functions.
