The Department of Computer Science at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Basrah—in collaboration with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit and the Continuing Education Unit, and under the supervision of the Science and Technology Parks Division—held an awareness workshop titled "Digital Drugs." The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Saba Abdul-Wahid Saddam and Assistant Lecturer Sarah Khalil Ibrahim.
The workshop explored the concept of "digital drugs," how they affect the brain and the nervous system, and the potential health and psychological risks associated with exposure to them. It also emphasized the importance of raising community awareness regarding these dangers—particularly among youth and students—and the need to exercise caution toward digital phenomena that could negatively impact health and behavior.
This workshop is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to promote health and social awareness and to foster a culture of prevention among students, contributing to the creation of a well-informed and safe university environment.
