College of Computer Science and Information Technology Hosts Awareness Workshop on Early Detection of Breast Cancer

The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah held an awareness workshop titled "Early Detection of Breast Cancer." The event was organized under the supervision of the Science and Technology Parks Department, in collaboration with the College’s Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit and the Thaqalayn Oncology Hospital. The workshop aimed to promote health awareness regarding the importance of early detection and its role in improving treatment outcomes and reducing the risks associated with the disease.

The workshop covered the significance of regular screenings and outlined key signs and symptoms that warrant a medical consultation. It also emphasized the necessity of fostering a culture of health awareness, encouraging women to prioritize their well-being and undergo regular medical check-ups.

This workshop is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance health and social awareness, and to instill a culture of prevention and health education among its staff and students—contributing to the development of a community that is more conscious of and attentive to health and safety.
