A Master's thesis at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Basrah, was titled:
"An Enhanced Authentication Scheme based on PMIPv6 for IoV Cybersecurity Prevention"
The thesis, submitted by student Fatima Jassim Mohammed, aimed to highlight the enhancement of vehicle network security through the design of a secure and lightweight authentication system based on integrating the PMIPv6 protocol with SDN to address authentication and latency issues in highly dynamic vehicle networks.
The thesis presented a proposed system that addresses authentication and mobility challenges in vehicle environments through a distributed architecture that provides effective protection against cyberattacks, while balancing security requirements with performance efficiency and scalability to accommodate the growing vehicle network. The network's performance was tested using the OMNeT++ simulation software.
The thesis concluded that the system demonstrated improved performance and reduced latency while providing protection against cyberattacks.
