A Master's thesis at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah explored an improved blockchain-based secure key management and access control system for cryptocurrencies. The thesis, titled "An Improved Blockchain-Based Secure Key Management and Access Control System for Cryptocurrencies," was submitted by student Samah Mahmoud Ahmed.
The thesis focused on designing a comprehensive, multi-layered security system for digital wallets to address critical security and privacy concerns related to electronic transactions. This was achieved through the integration of Hashicorp Vault (HV), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Authenticator.
The thesis concluded that the system provides high levels of data confidentiality, integrity, and secure storage, justifying its potential as a solution for protecting against unauthorized access to digital wallet recovery mechanisms and other types of threats.
