The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled: "Leveraging Deep Learning to Combat Deepfake Threats," presented by researcher Shahd Eidan Hamid, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Salah Faleh Saleh.
The lecture included: Developing a high-precision artificial intelligence model for detecting deepfake videos using deep neural network techniques. The proposed approach relies on using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to extract visual features from video frames, in addition to long-term and short-term memory modules (LSTMs) to analyze temporal patterns. It also focuses on improving the model's ability to process compressed and low-quality videos, which are commonly used in disseminating fake content.
