The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled “A Proposed Framework for Image-to-Image Translation Using GANs and VAEs: An Application on Aerial Map Data.”

The lecture aimed to present a hybrid research framework that combines GANs and VAE technologies to improve the quality of image-to-image translation, particularly in applications for converting aerial images into maps.

The lecture, presented by researcher Sahar Jabbar Mohammed and supervised by Prof. Dr. Salah Faleh Saleh, included an explanation of the training methodology, evaluation algorithms, and the results achieved during the experimental phases. It also highlighted the potential for developing the framework and employing it in various research fields.
