Under the patronage of the President of University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hisham Kadhum, the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled:

“The Dangers of the Culture of Triviality and its Role in Destroying Society.”

The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of the spread of the culture of triviality in contemporary societies and its role in weakening intellectual awareness and distorting the system of values ​​and priorities among individuals.

It included a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Ihsan Nadhum Jawad Al-Jazaeri from the College of Engineering, in which he addressed the roots of the phenomenon and the impact of media and social media in entrenching it, emphasizing the importance of building critical awareness and supporting sound thought in confronting the manifestations of superficiality and cultural decline.
