The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a festival titled "The Zaynabi Abaya: Identity and Chastity" on the occasion of the birth of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her). The festival was sponsored by the Dean of the College, Prof.Dr. Hisham Kadhum, and attended by assistants and a number of faculty members and students.

The festival aimed to promote a culture of chastity and modesty within the university community and encourage female students to emulate the Zaynabi model in behavior and appearance, emphasizing the status of women and their role in preserving human and religious values.

The festival included various activities, including honoring a group of outstanding female students who wore the Zaynabi abaya, amidst an atmosphere of cordiality and positive interaction between students and faculty.
