The Department of Computer Information Systems at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized an educational seminar entitled "The Impact of Drugs on University Students." The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof.Dr. Hisham Kadhum, distinguished assistants, and a number of faculty members, college staff, and students.

The seminar aimed to raise students' awareness of the dangers of drug abuse to physical and mental health, highlight its negative impact on academic achievement and academic behavior, and highlight the university's important role in spreading awareness and preventing this phenomenon among students and young people.

The seminar, presented by Colonel Ali Mohsen, included an awareness lecture that addressed the types of drugs prevalent among young people, the causes of their spread among young people, and methods for early detection of drug abuse. It also reviewed preventive and therapeutic methods, as well as the role of the family and the university environment in reducing drug abuse.
