The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah received a ministerial delegation to review the regulations and standards for the establishment of the Cybersecurity Department.
The delegation was received by the Dean of the College, Dr. Hisham Kadhum Hashim, and the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abbas Hanoun Hassan. The visit included a field tour of the scientific laboratories and classrooms to familiarize themselves with the available infrastructure and capabilities.
The Dean of the College emphasized that the establishment of the department was a response to the urgent needs of the local and global labor market and to keep pace with developments in the field of data protection.
The ministerial delegation praised the efforts made to develop the academic environment, announcing their support for future plans to provide institutions with specialized competencies.
