My dear students,

It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to this lofty academic edifice, within the confines of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at our venerable University of Basrah, on the occasion of the start of our new academic year. A year in which we carry within it our highest hopes and most beautiful aspirations.
Our college emerged from the College of Science in 2014-2015 to chart a bright future with the pens of science and knowledge, to be a shining beacon in the sky of technology and digital sciences, carrying the banner of excellence and creativity in the service of our beloved country.
 Since the moment we were appointed, we have been working with a clear vision and a lofty goal, striving to keep pace with the latest global developments in the fields of computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, and smart medical systems. We aim to produce distinguished cadres capable of shouldering the responsibility and raising Iraq's flag high in international forums.
Therefore, I address you, dear students, with words of hope and confidence. I urge you to strive for excellence and encourage within you the spirit of honorable scientific competition, which serves our national goals and the vital issues of our beloved nation. I also invite you to engage in research projects and technological initiatives that contribute to building a better tomorrow for our nation.

I take this opportunity to address the distinguished faculty members, urging them to continue their dedication and sincerity, carrying the torch of knowledge and science, committed to the highest standards of quality in teaching and scientific research, and to be the best support for our students on their academic journey.
 We firmly believe that knowledge is the most powerful weapon for building the future, and it is the bridge that leads us to horizons of progress and leadership. Let us make this year a year of remarkable achievements, full of giving, and brimming with excellence and creativity.

In conclusion, I ask God Almighty to guide us all toward what is good and elevates this scientific edifice, and to serve our beloved country.
