A master's thesis at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah explored a patient data management system using blockchain technology.

The thesis, presented by student Zainab Abdul Wahid Abdul Hassan, aims to protect patient privacy and ensure the integrity of medical records from tampering or loss. This is achieved by using encryption technologies such as AES and storing data within a distributed blockchain network containing multiple nodes to ensure availability and synchronization.

The thesis included assigning each patient a unique ID that serves as a secure means of accessing their medical records, facilitating control over who can view the data. The system relies on a proof-of-work mechanism to verify data authenticity and enables secure and seamless sharing of information between healthcare institutions, providing a trusted digital environment that enhances the quality of medical care and protects data from cyber threats.

وتهدف الرسالة التي قدمتها الطالبة زينب عبد الواحد عبد الحسن  الى  حماية خصوصية المرضى وضمان سلامة السجلات الطبية من التلاعب أو الفقدان، من خلال استخدام تقنيات التشفير مثل AES وتخزين البيانات داخل شبكة بلوكشين موزعة تحتوي على عدة عقد لضمان التوافر والمزامنة.

وتضمنت الرسالة منح كل مريض معرفًا فريدًا يُستخدم كوسيلة آمنة للوصول إلى سجلاته الطبية، مما يسهل التحكم في من يمكنه الاطلاع على البيانات . يعتمد النظام على آلية إثبات العمل للتحقق من صحة البيانات، ويتيح مشاركة آمنة وسلسة للمعلومات بين المؤسسات الصحية، مما يوفر بيئة رقمية موثوقة تعزز جودة الرعاية الطبية وتحمي البيانات من التهديدات السيبرانية.
