With direct support from Professor Abbas Al-Asadi, Assistant Dean of Science, and Dr. Haider Mahdi, Head of the Cybersecurity Department at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, a group of students from the College's Cybersecurity Department participated in the International Cybersecurity Exhibition and Conference, which saw extensive participation from specialized local and international institutions.
The aim of the participation was to explore the latest trends in digital protection and learn about advanced technologies used to combat cyber threats through scientific and technical sessions presented by the Iraqi Cybersecurity Center.
The students also held fruitful meetings with representatives of leading foreign companies in the cybersecurity sector, during which they discussed opportunities for cooperation, training, and future career prospects in this vital field. The students also met with representatives from the National Security Agency and the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), where they discussed opportunities for joint cooperation, advanced training programs, and the possibility of involving students in practical projects that contribute to building their capabilities and enhancing cybersecurity in Iraq. This participation comes as part of the efforts of the Cybersecurity Department at the University of Basra to develop students' skills and connect them to global developments in their fields of specialization, with the goal of preparing qualified personnel capable of keeping pace with modern digital challenges.
