University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Lecture on Leveraging Deep Learning to Combat Deepfake Threats

The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at  University of Basrah organized a lecture titled "Leveraging Deep Learning to Combat Deepfake Threats." The lecture aimed to develop a high-accuracy artificial intelligence model to detect fake videos using deep neural network techniques and analyze visual and audio features that distinguish deepfakes, such as differences in facial expressions and synchronization between audio and video. The lecture, delivered by Shahad Eidan Hamid, a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science, included the development of a flexible and efficient system that can handle low-quality or compressed videos, which are often used in deepfakes to spread misinformation.
