The College of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Basrah organized a workshop under the slogan "For an Iraq free of unadopted orphans". The workshop aims to focus on the issue of orphans who do not find adequate care and protection, and works to find innovative solutions to provide support to them and discuss how to improve the situation of orphans and provide better care for them, whether through government programs or community initiatives. The workshop, which was delivered by trainer Samir Abdul Nasser and trainer Kamel Abdul Hammadi, from the Al Ain Foundation for Orphan Sponsorship, included lectures to raise awareness about the rights of orphans and the importance of care and adoption for them by society and the state, and to review some successful experiences from within Iraq or other countries in the field of orphan care and adoption solutions.
