The President of  University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad S. Hammadi, opened the river marina at the site of Karma Ali Colleges, where the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, prof.Dr. Imad S. Alshawi, and a group of the college’s professors and students participated in attending the opening ceremony.
 The river dock designated for university transportation for professors, employees and students of  University of Basrah in Karma Ali back and forth to the river dock on the Shatt al-Arab Corniche aims to reduce traffic congestion and shorten the arrival time to and from the university due to the congestion occurring at the main gates of the site during the official working hours in the morning attendance.  Al-Bakr and Al-Sharf, in addition to the fact that it represents a river entertainment port on the site
