On Thursday, 9/24/2020, Basra University had the honor to visit the ministerial team for e-learning headed by Prof. Amer Al Amir esteemed in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology
The ministerial team was received warmly by the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, where he was briefed on the scientific laboratories, classrooms and the college’s preparations for the new academic year.
Then an expanded meeting was held in the presence of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the meeting dealt extensively with two main axes:
The first axis dealt with the requirements required to build an electronic learning platform for the colleges of Basra University, including the courses and resources it contains.
Where the head of the delegation provided a full explanation of the components of the platform and how to raise lectures and academic research in it and make the most of its components. This platform is characterized by high capacity and security for accommodating video lectures and interactive training.
The ministerial team pledged to support the university in this regard, so that the university has its own platform, just like other international universities.
The second axis dealt with the need to focus on writing in scientific research published in Scopus Index Journals in order to be recognized for the University of Basra. The ministerial team touched on the method that can be used to correspond with Scops to correct unintended errors in the researcher's writing the name of the college first and then the university, which leads to its not being counted for the university.
The ministerial team also discussed how doi generate research and lectures placed in ResearchGate, which positively affects the university’s international ranking. Other proposals were discussed to advance the progress of the university and focus on the quality of e-learning.
