The master’s thesis by student Muhammad Wamid Abdelnabi from the Department of Computer Science at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology was discussed today, Thursday, 10/26/2023, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Imad Shaalan Al-Shawi and the membership of Assistant Professor Marwa Kamel and Dr. Ali Kazem from Shatt Al-Arab College. It included performance analysis. The digital signature protocols for elliptic curve encryption, namely the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature technology and the Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman algorithm, were compared through a comprehensive evaluation process of the strengths and weaknesses in terms of key creation, signature creation and verification, as well as the corresponding processing speeds. The researcher concluded that the length of time required to create a digital signature and verify the signature increases with the increase in the number of bits in the hash function, especially in the ECDSA algorithm.
