A seminar at University of Basrah on generating the semantic dictionary of the Arabic language using web scraping.

The College of Computer Science and Information Technology held a seminar on generating the semantic dictionary of the Arabic language using web scraping, during which it discussed processing natural language heard in audio form or written in text form.  It was interested in building a linguistic semantic dictionary for the Arabic language automatically through the use of mechanisms for extracting information from the web, which aims to convert unstructured texts into structured files useful for use in natural language processing applications. Given the presence of many electronic dictionaries on websites, we decided to use the site scanning method.  Web Scraping: To scan and extract the contents of electronic dictionaries and process them in various ways to transform them into structured files suitable for automated natural language processing.  It is worth noting that it is part of the research work submitted to obtain a master’s degree in computer information systems.
