In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Under the patronage of Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the esteemed President of the University of Basra, and in the presence and participation of Dr. Salma Abdul-Baqi Mahmoud, the respected Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, along with distinguished members of the esteemed university council, a gathering was held to mark the beginning of the sacred month of Muharram.

During this solemn occasion, the attendees mourned and expressed their condolences, recalling the tragic events that befell the holy household of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at the beginning of the sacred month of Muharram, 1445 AH. The ceremony aimed to remember the sorrowful calamity of Al-Taff, and the tribulations that afflicted the noble family of the Prophet.To commemorate this event, the banner of Abi Al-Ahrar, Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, was raised at the University of Basra, precisely at the location of Bab Al-Zubair. Distinguished scholars, scientists, and religious figures were present at the occasion to pay their respects and show solidarity. May Allah's peace and blessings be upon the Prophet and his purified family.
