The University of Basra and the Arab Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies Sign a Memorandum of Scientific cooperation.

The University of Basra and the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies signed a memorandum of joint scientific cooperation in several fields, which would develop education, training and expertise for both parties to benefit the university’s students and graduates and the public sector, which represents the greatest weight in the Iraqi economy. The agreement was signed by the university president, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, with  President of the Academy, Rear Admiral Alaa Saber Hajem.

Both parties agreed to collaborate in enriching and contributing high-quality additions, exchanging support, information, and expertise in scientific, technical, managerial, and economic fields. They also aimed to develop human resources, publish joint research projects that serve both parties and the public interest, as well as establish a joint team to undertake pioneering projects based on the latest global digital technologies and their various applications in the Arab Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies' digital project.

The two parties emphasized the utilization of the university's facilities, including training centers and premises, to conduct workshops, specialized courses, and raise the scientific level of officers and teachers. In return, the training halls and laboratories of the university were made available to the students of the University of Basra for their benefit and to provide competent graduates to state institutions and the job market.

Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, accompanied by a number of deans and department directors, toured the Academy's laboratories, training halls, and witnessed the mechanical and electrical exhibition, where he was updated on the latest developments and inventions in this field.
