Under the auspices of the respected President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Salma Abdul-Baqi Mahmoud, the college organized a workshop on electronic extortion and drugs due to the importance and great impact of this topic on different segments of society at the present time and coinciding with the revolution technology through social networking programs. Lectures in the workshop were given by officers from the Basra Police Directorate and specialists in clan affairs and family police. They gave awareness lectures about electronic extortion, drugs, and the methods through which the university segment must deal with all its cadres to reduce this phenomenon and get rid of it gradually.
