<p>Welcome to College of Computer Science and Information Technology. I am sure that you will devote your time into academics and harvest a plethora of experiences during your stay at our college and flourish as an IT guru. We encourage you to participate in one of our academic programs to develop your skills and expertise and participate in various activities offered at our college. The decision of establishing the College of Computer Science and Information Technology in Basrah Governorate is a consequence of the Government's awareness of the importance of information technology sector. It came also as a response to the rapid developments taking place in the world in this area. The College started to accept students at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 2014 – 2015 . The college consists of two departments ‘Computer Science’ and ‘Computerized Information Systems’. The College has developed ambitious targets to serve the Iraq’s development plan, by forming highly qualified specialists in the field of Information Technology. The College also seeks to provide dedicated research, profound studies and experienced consulting services to contribute in the evolution of our community and our governorate in particular. Our post graduate program will start at he beginning of the next academic year (2019-2020). As in other communities, employment is considered as a serious issue, thus changes and adjustments are needed to create new jobs opportunities. The College of Computer Science and Information technology seeks to contribute directly to the economic growth and in the development of our country Iraq. IT students and graduates can translate their knowledge and innovations into business opportunities with tangible reality of becoming entrepreneurs.</p>
